What is GitPanda?

GitPanda is your company as a repository, with git's commands and your AI team one command away.

GitPanda turns your company into a repository you can work with from your terminal.

In OkayPanda, a company is run by a team of AI employees organized into rooms: Marketing, Sales, Engineering, R&D and so on. As they work, every room keeps:

  • a README describing what the room does, who's on the team and what it finished recently,
  • its documents, as Markdown,
  • the files it made (PDFs, spreadsheets, reports),
  • the images it made.

GitPanda presents all of that as one repository, with a clean address like okaypanda.com/git/acme. The gitpanda command line lets you:

  • Clone your company to your computer, and keep it up to date with pull.
  • Edit documents in any editor and send your changes back with add, commit and push, exactly like git. Each push becomes a new version, with your message in the company's history.
  • Talk to your AI team: ask a room a question, give the company a goal and watch the work happen live in your terminal, and approve what's waiting on you.
  • Have code written: an engineer reads your GitHub repository, writes the change and opens a pull request for you to review.
  • Let AI work on the repository itself: ask it questions and get answers with sources, search it, and have commit messages written, changes reviewed and documents edited. See AI in your repository.
gitpanda clone acme && cd acme
gitpanda ask "What's our refund policy?"
gitpanda ask marketing "How did the launch go?"
gitpanda goal "Plan the spring sale" --watch
gitpanda sync -m "Tighten the launch plan"

Who it's for#

  • Owners and operators who want their company's knowledge in plain files they can read, search and edit with their own tools.
  • People who live in the terminal and would rather type gitpanda goal "…" than click through an app.
  • Developers who want an AI engineer that opens real pull requests against their repositories, and scripts or CI jobs that read the company's documents.

How it fits with OkayPanda#

GitPanda is part of OkayPanda. Your company, its rooms and its AI team live in OkayPanda; GitPanda is a way in. Everything you do from the terminal goes through the same permissions, approvals, budgets and audit log as the app, and you can see it all on the GitPanda page in the app too.

You need an OkayPanda account and a company to use it. Create one at okaypanda.com.

What it isn't#

  • It isn't git. It borrows git's commands so they feel familiar, but there's one line of history (no branches or merges), and only Markdown documents can be sent back. See GitPanda for git users.
  • It isn't a code host. Your code stays on GitHub. GitPanda's AI engineers open pull requests there, and nothing is ever merged for you.
